Womanifesto is a women-led, biannual artist-initiated event and international art exchange program dedicated to celebrating women artists. It fosters global connections by creating online archives, events, workshops, and exhibition platforms, amplifying underrepresented voices and showcasing their work to audiences worldwide.
I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with the team to reimagine and refine its online presence, expanding its reach to broader audiences. My contributions have focused on enhancing the branding and design, crafting a sleek and contemporary identity, developing an enriched web archive, and producing impactful artwork and digital content.
For several years, Womanifesto, a biannual artist-initiated event celebrating women artists globally, has been crafted by Sakarit through the design of posters, flyers, and other collateral such as graphic/web content for the organization’s website and recurring events, ensuring ongoing maintenance, updates, and relevance to today’s technology.
This time, the scope also includes redesigning the web archive, creating event artwork, and developing other collateral such as posters, flyers, and graphic/web content.
The goal is to showcase both notable and marginalized women artists while ensuring their work is more accessible in both digital and physical formats.
The redesign ensures that the content is accessible to a wider audience, including those who are not tech-savvy or lack an art and design background. The grid-like structure and intuitive navigation make both digital and physical artwork easy to engage with.
By focusing on simplicity and vibrancy, the design creates a visually appealing and user-friendly experience. This has made it easier for users to explore and interact with the content.
The redesign modernized the identity of Womanifesto, aligning it with contemporary technologies and trends. This has strengthened its relevance in the art community and improved its appeal to a broader range of users.
The updates ensure that Womanifesto remains current with modern technological standards, allowing the organization to maintain its relevance and impact in a digital-first world.
The blurred, cut-out title “Feminisms” on the poster illustrates how feminism remains unestablished in Southeast Asia and many other parts of the world. The inclusion of Apsara reliefs—an iconic symbol of Southeast Asian women—highlights not only the region’s artistic heritage but also the essential role of women in one of history’s great civilizations, Angkor. This symbolism conveys the enduring importance and strength of women’s contributions amid evolving cultural landscapes.
