This collection showcases captivating poster designs across a range of styles —from conventional and minimal to Bauhaus, postmodern, experimental, and more. Each design embodies playfulness, energy, experimentation and exploration, transforming both physical and digital canvas into bold, unexpected expressions.
Ode to NYC is a vibrant poster series by leading and emerging designers, exclusively at Poster House. Each purchase supports NYCxDESIGN’s Emerging Designer Residency and helps strengthen New York City’s dynamic design community—celebrating creativity that inspires both locally and globally.
Last fall (2025), my poster design “NYC: Melodic Harmony” was selected for NYCxDESIGN’s 2026 Poster Series: Ode to NYC, featured alongside a dynamic mix of emerging designers and fellow Pratt Institute students and alumni. I feel deeply privileged to be part of this collective. Some of the featured designs, including mine, have since been restocked and are available for you to explore exclusively here at the Poster House.
My poster celebrates inclusivity by merging Frutiger Aero aesthetics with Dadaist collage. Combining photography and graphic elements, it invites curiosity and exploration. A cityscape framework reflects New York’s diverse inhabitants (humans, animals, and more), coexisting in visual harmony. From towering skyscrapers to the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, and Coney Island amusement park, these landmarks shape the scene, animated through vivid color and architectural motion that capture the city’s restless energy. The poster uses playful arrangements to highlight unity and coexistence. Inspired by Dave Brubeck’s Take Five, its movement reflects jazz’s offbeat energy, inviting viewers to pause and discover hidden details. It celebrates curiosity and the vibrant spirit of New York’s diverse community.
Alongside the physical poster I created for NYCxDesign and the Poster House, I also made a personal animated version just for fun. It incorporates motion graphics to emphasize the chaos and dynamism of New York City. While the physical collage conveys inclusivity and rhythm through static imagery, the animated poster introduces movement and visual accents that highlight the city’s intensity, playfulness, and unpredictability. Slightly different from the physical poster, new elements and motions were added to transform the work into a living, energetic reflection of NYC’s vibrant spirit.
